2021 AO Scholarship Winners

Associated Orthodontists is proud to announce the five winners of its 2021 Scholarship Program. The annual scholarship is open to all current and former patients that are graduating high school seniors with a GPA of at least 3.0 and received full braces at Associated Orthodontists.Each winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship to be applied directly to tuition at a college, university, vocational training or technical school.Applications were reviewed by a panel at Associated Orthodontists, and were chosen based on submitted essays, academic achievements, and participation in school and community activities.

2021 Scholarship Winners

Arwen Rolinitis Arwen is a senior at Lincoln-Way Central High School and will be attending Belmont University after graduation. She is active in the Lincoln-Way Marching Band, Indoor Drumline, Pep Band, Air Force JROTC as well as Tri-M Music Honor Society, Peer Helpers, Link Crew and Welcome Crew — all while being a high honor roll student. As a member of the Girl Scouts, she has been awarded the Girl Scout Gold Award and has also received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Recognition. In her spare time, you will find Arwin volunteering at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mokena, plus assisting numerous other organizations through her involvement with Girl Scouts and Air Force JROTC.

Jae Alderson A student at Kankakee High School, Jae is looking forward to attending Wheaton College this fall. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Tri-M Music Honor Society and also participates in cross-country, track and field, youth group and band. Academically, Jae is a High Honor Roll student, an AP Scholar with Distinction and has also received recognition for her achievements from the Illinois Principals Association, the Kiwanis Club and Northwestern University. Outside of school, she enjoys serving as a small group leader every Sunday for third and fourth grade girls at Gathering Point Church.

Lucy HaasLucy is a resident of New Lenox and a senior at Lincoln-Way Central High School. She is a member of the high school’s gymnastic and swimming and diving teams — where she has received several accolades. Additionally, Lucy serves as a Student Leader, is a member of the Welcome Crew, Link Crew, the National Honor Society and has been named to the High Honor Roll. This 12-year veteran of Girl Scouts has been awarded both Silver and Bronze recognitions from the organization, and volunteers her time at the Lincoln-Way Kiddie Camp, My Starving Children, plus numerous events as a member of the United Methodist Church of New Lenox. This fall, she will be attending the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Mary HiltThis Dwight Township High School senior will be attending the University of Tampa following graduation. Mary is active in swimming and diving, cheerleading, drama club, student council, Spanish club, plus several other peer support groups. A member of the National Honor Society, Mary has also been named a Board of Education Scholar and student of the month from Dwight Township High School and the Livingston County Career Center. In her spare time, she volunteers at OSF St. James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Harvest Days, the Dwight Economic Association, Christmas for Kids and also serves her neighbors through Community Clean Ups and Adopt-A-Highway.

Molly LeedersMolly attends Joliet Catholic Academy, where she serves as captain of the tennis team, in addition to being a Student Ambassador and a member of the Medical Sciences, Key and Leo and Habitat for Humanity Clubs. As a student-athlete, she has been named to the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society and is a recipient of the Patrick Quigley Memorial Scholarship and Remembering “G” Memorial Scholarship. Outside of school, you will find Molly volunteering as an emergency room escort, eucharistic minister, assistant dance teacher at La Danse Academy, tennis camp counselor and Kairos leader.Associated Orthodontists has six convenient locations in Joliet, Plainfield, Morris, New Lenox, Frankfort and Bourbonnais.
